The Incident – Part 1 Season 5, Episode 16 (recap)

1011Lost TV Show, 5×16 Part 1 of the most bewildering Lost Shows yet! This is the ABC Lost Recap with some photos. If you want to see our thoughts and more photos read here. In an unknown room, we see a man dressed in white at a spinning wheel creating a tapestry with an intricate design containing Egyptian and Greek symbols. We cut to the man sitting on the beach cooking fish over a fire. It’s morning, and on the horizon, out over the ocean, a large ship is sailing towards the island. Another man, this one dressed in black, walks over to the Man in White. The Man in Black asks why the Man in White brought the ship to the island — is he still trying to prove the Man in Black wrong? The Man in Black says they come, fight, destroy, corrupt, and it always ends the same. The Man in White tells him it only ends once, and everything else is just… progress. The Man in Black says he wants to kill the Man in White, and one day he’s going to find a loophole. The Man in White says he’ll be right there. The Man in Black leaves and addresses the Man in White as Jacob. Yes, this is Jacob. The camera pulls back over the ocean, and we see they were sitting on the base of a giant stone foot. And next to the foot is another foot — and both feet have four toes. And as the camera pulls back, we see what we’ve been waiting to see since we first glimpsed that four-toed foot over three years ago… the towering, majestic statue of the Egyptian goddess Taweret. And we clearly know we’re a long time ago, so let’s get the finale of season five started –

WHOOSH to a small-town general store as Young Kate and Young Tom plot their crime: they want to steal a New Kids On the Block lunchbox. Young Kate snatches it and hides it in her backpack, but on the way out they’re caught. The owner threatens to call the cops, but a man steps forward and offers to pay for it. The man is Jacob. Young Kate tells him thanks, and Jacob asks if she’s going to steal anymore. She shakes her head no, and Jacob smiles. He reaches out and taps her on the tip of her nose. “Be good, Katie,” Jacob says and leaves.

WHOOSH to the submarine holding area. The sub is preparing to dive, but Kate tells Sawyer and Juliet they have to get out of there. Kate explains that she was coming back to get Sawyer because Faraday is dead and Jack wants to blow up a hydrogen bomb. Sawyer tells her he’s going to pass. He and Juliet were happy in Dharmaville and want to take their chances in the real world. If Jack wants to blow up the island, then good for Jack.

In the underground tunnels, Sayid points out that in Faraday’s journals there are instructions on how to remove the plutonium core… and how to detonate it. Jack asks if the core will be enough to neutralize the pocket of energy, and Sayid tells him it’s a thermonuclear weapon. It’ll be more than enough. Richard is unsure because Eloise is pregnant, but she says that’s exactly why they have to see this through. Jack says they better get moving — they only have two hours.

At the Swan construction site, Radzinsky is angry that the crew have stopped digging. Dr. Pierre Chang is there and says the drill is heating up too much. Radzinsky says that’s why they have water. He has been working on the project for six years — to design a station that will be able to manipulate electromagnetism in ways they’ve only dreamed of. And no one is stopping him three meters short of success. Radzinsky orders them to start drilling again.

WHOOSH to the beach as Sun treks along with the Others. She approaches Ben and asks who Jacob is. He’s the man they’re walking to see, so she wants to know who he is. Ben says Jacob’s in charge of the island. Sun is confused. She thought Locke was in charge. No, Locke is their leader, which Ben confides is a title that is incredibly temporary. But everyone answers to someone, and the leader answers to Jacob. Sun asks what Jacob is like, but Ben doesn’t know. He’s never met him.

At the front, Locke and Richard Alpert talk. Richard says that Ben told him that he strangled Locke, so Richard wants to know how Locke is alive. Locke says that Richard’s been on the island much longer than he has. If anyone would have an explanation for it, he thought Richard would. Richard says he has been there a long time but never seen someone brought back to life. Locke says he’s never seen anyone that doesn’t age but that doesn’t mean it can’t happen. Richard says that he’s that way because of Jacob, and that’s his guess as to why Locke isn’t in a coffin anymore. Locke agrees. He then says after he’s done thanking Jacob, they’ll have to deal with the passengers from the Ajira flight. Richard asks what that means, and Locke simply says he knows what he means. Unsure of Locke before, Richard is now very worried.

On another part of the beach, Ilana, Bram and her team unload the large aluminum crate off the outrigger. Lapidus pretends to be unconsciousness as he listens to Ilana and Bram’s conversation. Bram didn’t want to bring Lapidus along, but Ilana says he might be important. Bram asks if Lapidus is a candidate, but before Ilana can answer she realizes Lapidus is awake and listening. Lapidus asks who they are, and Ilana says they’re friends. Lapidus asks what’s in the box, and surprisingly Ilana shows him. And when Lapidus sees what’s inside, he’s shocked.

WHOOSH to a funeral outside a Southern church. Young Sawyer watches as they load his mom and father’s caskets into hearses. Afterwards, Young Sawyer is trying to write a letter but his pen won’t work. Jacob walks up and asks if he needs a pen. He hands one, and as Young Sawyer takes it, their fingers touch briefly. Sawyer’s Uncle Doug walks over and reads the letter Young Sawyer is writing. “Dear Mr. Sawyer. You don’t know who I am. But I know who you are. And I know what you done.” Uncle Doug understands that Sawyer is angry, but he tells the little boy that he has to move on. His parents are gone, and there’s nothing he can do to change it. What’s done is done. Uncle Doug asks Young Sawyer to promise that he won’t finish the letter. Little Sawyer is utterly sincere as he promises, but since we know Sawyer did finish the letter, we realize Sawyer just pulled off his first con.

WHOOSH to the submarine. Sawyer thinks Jack has lost his marbles if he thinks by blowing up a nuke everything will reset — that flight 815 will land in Los Angeles and nothing on the island would have ever happened. Kate points out that Jack could kill everyone on the island. Sawyer understands, but he made his choice to leave and he’s sticking to it. Then a Dharma guy comes around with their sedatives, when suddenly out of nowhere — WHAM-BLAMM! Juliet slams the guy’s head into the table and kicks him in the chest, knocking him out. Sawyer is shocked. Juliet says they can’t just let Jin, Miles and Hurley die. Sawyer is disgruntled but realizes she’s right. Juliet gets the keys off the Dharma guy and unlocks their cuffs. They grab the guy’s gun and sneak into the sub control room, forcing the Captain to bring the sub to the surface. Then they warn him not to go back to the island, and Sawyer shoots the radio just so he can’t radio Horace.

In the underground tunnel, Sayid finishes removing the plutonium core from its housing. Richard tells Jack that over 20 years ago Locke walked into their camp and said he was going to be their leader. Richard went off the island to visit him three times since then, but Locke never seemed particularly special to him. Does Jack know Locke? Jack says yes, he knows him, and he wouldn’t give up on him. Eloise then leads them through the tunnels.

WHOOSH to the Others as they trek along the beach. Locke asks Ben why he hasn’t told Richard about Locke’s plan to kill Jacob. Ben says he thought Locke wanted to keep that a secret. Locke is surprised by that — it never stopped Ben before. Ben says that he’s looking at things differently now that his dead daughter threatened to destroy him if he didn’t do everything Locke says. Locke smiles and says maybe he won’t have to convince Ben after all. Ben asks convince him to do what? Locke says that he’s not going to kill Jacob — Ben is.

WHOOSH to Los Angeles and an intersection at Santa Monica Boulevard. Sayid and Nadia wait for the light to cross as a man standing next to them looks at a map. The man is Jacob. Nadia steps into the crosswalk as Jacob asks Sayid for help. Sayid looks at the map and asks where he wants to go — as VRRRM — KA-BAM! An SUV plows into Nadia. Fast. Shocking. Brutal. And during the moment of impact, Jacob reaches over… but does he touch Sayid’s shoulder? Sayid rushes over to the dying Nadia and tells her he’s there. That it’s all going to be all right. In Arabic, barely able to get the words out, Nadia asks him to take her home where she belongs.

WHOOSH to the underground tunnel as Sayid follows Eloise and Richard. They stop, and Richard uses a sledge hammer to bust through the rock into the basement of a Dharma house. Eloise starts to enter first, but Richard knocks her unconscious with his handle of his gun. He explains that he’s protecting their leader. He can’t risk her going any further with Jack and Sayid. Eloise will be angry when she wakes up, but it’ll be better than being dead. Then he tells Jack for both their sakes, he hopes they never see each other again.

Sayid and Jack go upstairs to the main part of the house and see the commotion outside. The P.A. announces a security alert that if anyone encounters the hostile, they are authorized to use deadly force. How are Jack and Sayid going to get out of there? Sayid grabs a jumpsuit and says they’ll hide in plain sight. They head out, the plutonium core hidden in a backpack, and make it though most of Dharmaville. But then Roger Linus sees them and recognizes Sayid as the one who shot his kid. He points his gun at them, and Sayid warns him he has a nuclear device — but KA-BANG! Roger shoots Sayid in the stomach. Jack fires back, sending Roger and everyone around scattering. Dharma security men open fire, and Jack holds them off. Then a Dharma van barrels towards them. It skids to a halt, and the side door slides open — it’s Jin, Miles and Hurley! Jack loads Sayid inside and shouts at Hurley to drive. Hurley speeds away.

Out on the ocean, Kate, Sawyer and Juliet paddle ashore. They have no idea where they are. Suddenly, they hear barking, and Vincent comes running out of the jungle. Behind Vincent appears Rose. She turns to Bernard and simply says they found them. Neither of them are happy about it. Rose and Bernard lead Sawyer, Kate and Juliet to the hut they built and lived in for the past three years. Rose says she knows Jin was looking for them, but they didn’t want to be found. They’ve retired. Bernard says that people work their whole lives to get a nice quiet place by the ocean where they can live in peace. Sawyer and Kate tell them Jack has a bomb, but Rose doesn’t care. She says it’s always something with them. They traveled back in time thirty years, and they’re still trying to find a way to shoot each other. Juliet says if they don’t stop Jack they all die. Bernard shrugs and says so they die. The only thing he and Rose care about is being together. That’s all that matters in the end. Rose points out the direction to the barracks, and Sawyer, Kate and Juliet leave.

WHOOSH to run-down hospital where Ilana lies heavily bandaged in a bed. A nurse walks over to her and speaks in Russian. There’s a man here to see her. The nurse signals to the man, and Jacob walks in. He crosses over to Ilana’s bed, and speaking in Russian, tells her he’s sorry he couldn’t make it sooner. Ilana whispers in raspy Russian that she’s happy to see him. Jacob switches to English and says he’s there because he needs her help. Will she help him? Ilana says yes, and Jacob smiles, relieved.

WHOOSH to the island as Ilana’s team treks through the jungle. Lapidus asks what they are going to do with what’s in the box, and Bram says they have to show it to somebody so they know what they’re up against. Lapidus asks what they are up against, and Bram says something a hell of a lot scarier that what’s in the box. Lapidus asks who they are, and Bram says the good guys. Lapidus comments that in his experience, the only people who go out of their way to say they’re the good guys are usually the bad guys. Ilana tells them they’re here — and they break out into a clearing containing Jacob’s cabin. Bram points out that the circle of ash has been broken. Ilana reacts, and tells Bram to wait there. She goes inside the cabin and sees that it’s empty. She notices a knife stuck in a wall pinning something to it. Ilana walks over to it and sees that it’s part of an old tapestry. She leaves and tells her group he isn’t in there and hasn’t been for a long time. Someone else has been using it. She tells them to burn it. Bram and Ilana’s team light up torches and FWOOOM! set the cabin on fire. Bram looks at the piece of tapestry and sees the Taweret statue on it. He guesses where they’re going next.

WHOOSH to Jacob reading a book on a bench. It’s a quiet, peaceful moment — and then we hear the sound of glass shattering. Behind Jacob we see a man fall out of an apartment window and drop to the ground! THUD! A woman screams and people yell out to call 911. Jacob stands and is the first to walk over to the man — who we now see is John Locke. Jacob reaches down and touches him, and Locke sucks in a breath, in shock. Jacob tells Locke everything will be all right and that he’s sorry this happened to him.

WHOOSH to the beach as the Others trek into the Oceanic 815 survivors’ old beach camp. They’ll reach where they’re going by nightfall, so Locke suggests they take a moment to catch their breath. Considering what he has planned for them — they’ll need it. Ben stands looking out at the ocean. Locke joins him and asks what happened that day when Ben took him to the cabin to first meet Jacob. Ben says Locke already knows there was nothing there. Ben was pretending. He was embarrassed about never seeing Jacob himself, so he lied about Jacob being there. Then Ben asks why Locke wants him to kill Jacob. Locke says because despite his loyal service to the island, Ben got cancer. He had to watch his own daughter gunned down front of him. And Ben’s reward for those sacrifices was being banished. All in the name of a man Ben had never meet. So the real question is why wouldn’t Ben want to kill Jacob?

Sun walks through her old home. She finds baby Aaron’s wooden crib fallen over on it’s side, and she stands it back up. As she does, she finds a metal ring in the sand. It’s Charlie’s Drive Shaft ring.

WHOOSH to Sun and Jin’s wedding as they exchange their vows and Sun slips Jin’s ring on his finger. Neither of them have ever been so happy, and the guests applaud. Afterwards, receiving their guests in line, Jacob approaches them and puts his hands on their shoulders as he speaks to them in flawless Korean. He offers them his blessing, and wishes them a long and happy life together. Their love is a special thing, and they should never take it for granted. Jacob leaves, and Sun asks Jin who that was. Jin doesn’t know, but his Korean was excellent.

WHOOSH to the island as Hurley speeds along a jungle road. Jack can’t stop Sayid’s gunshot wound from bleeding and tells Jin to keep pressure on it. Suddenly, Hurley slams on the brakes as Sawyer, Kate and Juliet step onto the road in front of them. Jack steps out, and Kate says they are there to stop Jack. Sawyer tells Jack they have to talk. Five minutes. That’s all he needs. Jack agrees, and they walk off to someplace private.

Lost Season 5×17 The Incident – Part 2

Lost TV Show 5×17 “The Incident” Part 2. Season 5 of lost was great because one of the Mysteries was resolved when we finally got to see Jacob in Action. But, then there is a man in black whom we are clueless about (yet another thing to wonder about until next year!)…

Anyway, I gave some of my insight in the previous post “The Incident – Part 1” about Jacob and this man in black and how Richard was given eternal life, etc… So, after seeing the end of Part 2 my feeling is that this new group of strangers that are working for Jacob brought a huge container that had John Locke in it!!! Okay, 2 John Lockes? No, just 1, but the man in black is the other. There are lots of possibilities here, but my thoughts are something like this:

  • John Locke was killed by Ben (who struggles with Envy! which is a sin!)…
  • John Locke Ended up in the plane, in a Casket that was landed fairly safe on the Island and a group of Strangers protected it.
  • Then John Locke appears to everyone like he was risen from the Dead, but no one bothered to check the Casket which is in the hands of the strangers.
  • Now, this body was brought to Richard while the man in black, disguised as John Locke was helping to convince Ben (using is Envy) to kill Jacob.

Okay, so the Man in Black can somehow look like John Locke, is this because he is of some super natural power like Jacob and can do special things like shape shift? Or, was there a clone of John Locke somewhere? The writers of lost did have a scene when Ben first left the Island and was never to return, somehow had a second ben appear so there was 2 bens. Anyway, this concept is not new, they just finally introduced it to the actual show. Anyway, if this man can shapeshift, maybe he is also the black smoke! Hmmm, because the black smoke said to do what ever John Locke said and used the form of Bens Daughter to convince him… Wow, the island finally speaks to Ben and when it does, it is to follow the fake John Locke!

If you have another theory I’d like to hear it. Moving on here… The Time Line is in Danger back in 1977 as Juliet actually activates the Hydrogen Bomb so will time be reset? If so, then John Locke will never be on the Island and Jacob will not die, etc… I think that Jacob went back and touched certain members of the survivors for a reason though. Maybe this was so that when Time resets, they will not be. They get to remain on the Island since they did sacrifice themselves to change the future. Which means that maybe there is a way for Jacob to still be alive? This gets really confusing, but I am sure the show will make sense of it all.

The more I get into this, the more I get confused. But I do hope John will live again and maybe the people Jacob touched will all have to touch him back to bring him back?

Oh, here is a side thing… Jacob leaves the Guitar with Hurley and Sun finds the Drive Shaft Ring! Hmmm, maybe Charlie gets to come back in the last season so he can give the ring back to Aron and be back with Claire! See, the more I write the more things that we just need to know so we are fully satisfied.

What are your thoughts?

Lost Season 5×16 (The Incident) Part 1

Lost TV Show 5×16 The Incident was part 1 of 2 for the season finale of ABC Lost. If you have not watched the show yet, don’t read any of this. If you have read I have a few thoughts and questions.

In Season 3 of Lost we learn that Locke was pushed out a window by his biological dad the “con artist” whom Sawyer modeled his life after. The question we all had after that was, how could he have survived a fall like that? Well, from Episode 16 we learn that this was possible because Jacob touched him and he woke up. Does Jacob have the ability to raise people from the dead and give eternal life? Hmmm, sounds more and more biblical based as we go along.

Lets touch on Jacob a bit. He is seen talking to a man in Black, while wearing white. Hmmm, good vs. evil? A large ship is seen coming to the Island which we know has to do with Jacob bringing it over. Maybe this ship brings over our first Hostiles? Remembering back to the survivors running from flaming arrows as the hostiles attack them to protect the island and Jacob. So Richard must have been on this ship and Jacob must have decided to give him Eternal Life and possibly the crew as well, but we don’t get to see their faces long enough to memorize them. Anyway, we see Jacob is a man of Great Power and seems to have the idea of “Hope” in him.

I could be wrong here but maybe this black smoke is the man in Black? I will get more into that when I post about 5×17.

Now, back in 1977 we have an Island full of Dharma people who somehow found the Island and carefully brought over people from different parts of the world or the United States as everyone speaks perfect english. The plan is to bomb the “Swan” and change the history of what took place.

So our plot is Jacob is touching people and we don’t know why yet, the man in black wants to Kill Jacob & survivors are trying to change the future from ever happening. Hmmm, okay my thoughts are coming together, but I am probably way off since I didn’t see what was coming in 5×17 and totally threw me off balance on my theories. Anyway, to be continued and enjoy the photos!

Lost Season 5 Episode 15 – Follow The Leader (recap)

09Lost TV Show Season 5×15 (s05e15). This ABC Lost Recap covers “Follow The Leader” Faraday walks into the Others’ camp with his gun. Hiding in the jungle and watching, Kate says to Jack that this is a mistake, Faraday is crazy. Jack asks what if this is why they’re here? What if this is their only way to put things back the way they’re supposed to be? But before Kate can respond — BLAM! They hear a gunshot. They look towards the sound and see Faraday fall over dead. Jack leaps to his feet, about to run over when Kate stops him. They’ll shoot him, too! But then two men gallop up on horseback with rifles. One man swings his rifle and smashes it down on Jack’s head. The other man warns Kate not to move. The first man dismounts, and we see it’s Charles Widmore in his 40s. He asks Jack who they are.

Widmore marches Jack and Kate into the Others’ camp. He sees Faraday’s body and asks what happened. Richard explains that the man came into their camp pointing a gun at Richard and Eloise reacted. Eloise asks Jack and Kate if they came with this man. Jack says yes, and Eloise orders them to her tent. Widmore asks why the Dharma Initiative has declared war on them, and Eloise says that these people aren’t from the Dharma Initiative. Widmore asks where are they from?

WHOOSH to thirty years later with Richard Alpert in his tent working on a ship in a bottle when a woman comes running in and says he’s back. Richard looks out to see Locke walking into camp. It’s been three years — Richard asks what happened to Locke? Locke says he’ll explain on the way. He and Richard have an important errand to run. Richard is studying Locke, and Locke asks if something was wrong. Richard says there’s something different about Locke. Locke says he has a purpose now.

Behind Locke, Sun and Ben walk into the camp. Sun sees Locke talking to Richard and asks why Locke said these were his people. Ben says when he left the island John became their leader. She asks who Richard is, and he explains that Richard is sort of like an advisor. And he’s had that job a very, very long time. Sun crosses over to Richard and asks him if he was on the island in 1977. She shows him the Dharma new recruits photo from 1977 and says these people were here thirty years ago with her husband, Jin Kwon. Does Richard remember any of them? Richard says yes, he remembers meeting them very clearly because the day after he met them — he watched them all die.

WHOOSH back to Kate and Jack. She asks what he meant when he said they needed to put things back the way they were supposed to be. Jack says if they can do what Faraday said, then their plane never crashes. Oceanic 815 lands in Los Angeles, and everyone who died since they got there would still be alive. Kate asks what about them? They go on with their lives because they never met? Jack says all the misery is wiped clean. Kate is angry and says it wasn’t all misery, but Jack says enough of it was.

Eloise enters and asks why the man she shot wanted the bomb. Jack says she wouldn’t believe him if he told her. Eloise says when she was 17 she took a young man out to that bomb because it was dangerous. He told her to bury it and everything would be okay. He knew this because he was from the future. Then he disappeared right in front of her — and ten minutes ago she just shot him in the back. Before he died, he told her he was her son. She opens the journal to the first page and asks how it’s her handwriting if she doesn’t remember writing it? Jack says because she hasn’t written it yet. He says what she did was an accident, but what if there was a way to take it back? Faraday came back to the island because he figured out a way to change things. He doesn’t have to be dead. If they do what he wrote in his journal, then none of this will have happened. Eloise asks Kate if Jack knows what he’s talking about, and Kate says he thinks he does. Eloise agrees to take them to the bomb, but there’s one small issue. They secured it underground over 20 years ago, but since then the Dharma Initiative have built an entire village over it. Getting in and out may be more complicated now.

At the Dharma security station, Radzinsky and his black jumpsuited guards handcuff Sawyer and Juliet to chairs in the security station. Radzinsky asks where Kate is now, but Sawyer won’t say. SMACK! Radzinsky blasts Sawyer across the face. Horace tries to stop him, but Radzinsky says he’s getting answers. Horace says he’s in charge, but Radzinsky says no longer. Because if they’re going to protect their people, Horace won’t have the stomach for what happens next. Horace realizes he’s outnumbered, so he steps back. Phil smashes Sawyer’s face against the monitors as Radzinsky asks where Kate is. And if Sawyer doesn’t answer, Radzinsky is going to kill him.

Juliet yells at Radzinsky to stop. She tries to reason with Radzinsky, but Sawyer tells her to stop. He ain’t going to believe anything she says, and it’s only going to get more people hurt. Phil says he can make LaFleur talk — and he suddenly punches Juliet in the face! Sawyer is furious, and he warns Phil that he’s a dead man. Mitch comes in and and says they can’t find Miles and Jin. He hands Radzinsky the list of new recruits from the sub manifest and points out the three last minute add-ons. Radzinsky asks who Hugo Reyes is, and Phil says the fat guy.

Hurley is at the pantry taking as much food as he can in a rucksack and sneaks off. However, in the distance, Dr. Chang is watching him and decides to follow him. Hurley goes into the jungle on the outskirts of the barracks to where Miles and Jin are hiding. He asks what the rescue plan is for Sawyer and Juliet, but Miles says there are 30 of them with guns. They can only rescue themselves, so let’s go. Hurley says Sawyer would never leave them behind. Then Chang emerges from the jungle, and Miles asks what he’s doing there. Chang wants to know if Faraday was telling the truth. Is Miles his son? Hurley lies and says no. Chang asks him what year he was born, who’s the president — but Hurley can’t think fast enough. He caves and says yes, they’re from the future… and Miles is Chang’s son. Faraday said there was going to be a massive accident at the Swan and to evacuate everyone from the island, so Chang asks if that’s true. Miles says Faraday has been right about everything so far, so if he said to get everyone off the island… Chang should do it.

In the Others’ camp, Eloise tells Richard that he and Erik are coming with her. They are to untie Jack and Kate, and she is taking them to the bomb. Eloise and Widmore talk privately, and he rests his hand on her stomach. Jack asks Richard who Widmore is. Richard tells him, and says that love is sometimes complicated.

WHOOSH to 30 years later as Locke, Richard and Ben trek through the jungle. Richard asks again where Locke has been for the last three years, and Locke is amazed that Richard doesn’t know. Richard says Locke disappeared right in front of him, and Locke says he’s about to see where he disappeared to. And once they’re done, he wants Richard to take him to see Jacob. Richard is unsure about doing that, Locke says he’s the leader now and he wants to see Jacob. Richard agrees to take him.

They reach the edge of the clearing with the crashing Nigerian drug plane, and Ben sees someone moving around. Locke tells Richard he only has a few minutes to get this right. He tells them the man down there needs Richard’s help. He’s been shot in the leg and Richard has to get the bullet out. Then Richard has to tell him he needs to bring everyone who left back to the island. And when he asks how to do that, Richard needs to tell him he has to die. Ben asks who the man is, and Locke says it’s him.

Ben watches as Richard walks over to the Locke by the plane. Ben asks the Locke standing next to him how he knew when to be here, and Locke says the island told him. Ben points out that the island didn’t tell Locke where to find Jacob or he wouldn’t need Richard to show him. Locke realizes that Ben has never seen Jacob, but Ben claims he has.

WHOOSH to the Dharma security office as Chang rushes in to tell them they need to evacuate the island right now, and is disgusted to see Horace and Radzinsky torturing Sawyer and Juliet. Chang explains an accident is about to happen at the Swan construction site and they need to evacuate the island. Radzinsky declares that they are not stopping anything. Sawyer says that Chang is right and that it ain’t safe. He asks them to put him and Juliet on the sub. He makes an offer: if they put them on the sub, he’ll tell them everything they want to know. Radzinsky agrees, and Sawyer starts drawing a map to the location of the Others.

Eloise and Richard lead Kate and Jack to a pond in the jungle. They have to swim under the pond to get to the tunnels where they stored the bomb. Kate refuses to go. She wants to return to the barracks but Erik won’t let her go. Suddenly — BAM! A shot rings out, and another shot. Erik falls over dead. Sayid steps out of the jungle, gun drawn on Eloise and Richard. Jack explains his plan to change things to Sayid, but Sayid says he already changed things — he killed Ben. But Kate says he didn’t kill him — she brought him to the Others and they saved him. Sayid asks why, and Kate asks when shooting kids and blowing up bombs became okay? Jack tells her this is why they were brought back to the island — that it’s their destiny. Kate tells him that he sounds like Locke, and even Jack said Locke was crazy. Kate leaves to go back and get the rest of their people, saying maybe they can stop Jack. Richard, Jack, Eloise and Sayid dive in and swim through underwater tunnels. They surface into an underground cavern, and Richard leads them through the maze of tunnels to the bomb.

At the dock, the Dharma women and child are rushed onto the sub. Miles watches from a distance as his mother and father argue. Finally, hurt and upset, she gets on the sub with baby Miles. Then they see Sawyer and Juliet being lead to the sub in cuffs. Hurley says not to worry — Sawyer always has a plan. As the sub hatch is about to close, Phil brings Kate in. They cuff her in between Sawyer and Juliet, and then the sub takes off. Sawyer, Kate and Juliet are out to sea and really leaving the island.

WHOOSH to Locke, Ben and Richard as they return to the beach camp. Locke says they are leaving right then to take everyone to see Jacob. If that man is telling them what to do, then he’d like to know who he is. As they head out, Richard confesses to Ben that he thinks John Locke is going to be trouble, and Ben says why does he think he tried to kill him. As they trek up the beach, Ben works his way up to Locke and whispers that Richard has some concerns and reservations about Locke’s leadership. Locke thanks Ben for telling him. Ben says he’s there to follow Locke, so if Jacob will help reunite him with this people — but Locke interrupts Ben and says he’s not interested in reuniting with his people. He’s going to see Jacob so he can kill him.

BOOM.

jack-season5Lost TV Show in the next to last season concludes Season 5 with a 2 part Finale! Lost Season 5×16, 5×17. ABC Lost has brought 5 great years of the best show on TV and Season 6 will be the final season. In Season 5 Finale  Jack’s decision to put a plan in action in order to set things right on the island is met with some strong resistance by those close to him. Locke assigns Ben a difficult task.

What does this mean exactly? If The theory of Time Travel is true basedon Faraday’s original plan, there is nothing you can do to change what has already happened, then all the events we are seeing now have already happened though the people involved “Jack, Sawyer, Kate, Juliet, Hurley, Miles, Sayid, John, etc. The question is do our original cast members survive this time travel incident in the end or do they really change the future?

Lost Season 5 Episode 14 The Variable recap

26CHAOS. BAM. Hospital doors fly open as paramedics roll in Desmond on a gurney. Penny follows holding young Charlie, and the doctor tells her she’ll have to wait. Later, a woman walks into the waiting area and says that young Charlie has his father’s hair. Penny looks over to see Eloise Hawking. She introduces herself, and says that she believes it’s her son’s fault that Desmond was shot. Penny asks if her son is Benjamin Linus, and Hawking says no. It’s Daniel Faraday.

We WHOOSH back to the island as Faraday gets off the submarine. He shows Miles the new recruits photo with Jack, Kate and Hurley in it and says that’s why he’s back. He needs to see Jack now. At Jack’s house, Faraday explains he’s been at the Dharma headquarters in Ann Arbor doing research. He asks how Jack, Kate and Hurley got back to 1977. Jack says they were on a plane that his mother told them to get on. Faraday asks if she convinced them to do it by saying it was their destiny. Jack says yes. Faraday tells him that she was wrong.

WHOOSH to a ten year-old Daniel Faraday practicing the piano. He’s good, but his mother, Eloise Hawking, comes up besides him and stops him. She seems genuinely sad when she asks him if he understands what destiny means. Young Daniel says no, and she explains that if one has a special gift then he needs to nurture it. Daniel has a special gift, and it’s his mind. He is meant for science and mathematics, and it’s her job to keep him on his path. He can’t be distracted by playing the piano any longer. Young Daniel says he can make time for both, and Eloise says she wishes he could.

WHOOSH to Jack’s house on the island as Faraday leaves. He’s going out to the Orchid station with Miles. Jack goes to Sawyer’s house and tells him Faraday is back. Sawyer is busy trying to deal with his new problem — Phil saw the videotape of him and Kate taking Ben to the Others, and now Sawyer has Phil tied up in the closet.

At the Orchid station, Faraday waits for a second van to pull up with Dr. Pierre Chang in it. Faraday flips through his journal and says right on time. Faraday runs inside — and we see the opening scene from the fifth season premiere episode, “Because You Left,” but we now see it from Faraday’s point of view. He watches as the construction foreman shows Chang the man who was hurt from drilling into the wall. As Chang leaves, Faraday tells Chang that he needs to order the evacuation of everyone from the island. Chang asks why, and Faraday explains that like the accident here, there is going to be an accident at the Swan station site. Only the energy there won’t be contained like it was here at the Orchid. The energy released there will be 30,000 times more powerful, and the accident will be catastrophic. Chang scoffs. How can Faraday make that kind of prediction, and Faraday says because he’s from the future.

Chang thinks Faraday is making fun of him, but Faraday tries to prove he’s from the future by showing Chang his journal. Chang wants nothing to do with Faraday. Miles runs over and tries to make Faraday leave Chang alone. Desperate, Faraday realizes Miles can prove they’re from the future and says that Miles is Chang’s son. Faraday quickly points out that a Chinese man named Miles, that same name as Chang’s son, shows up with him — it can’t be a coincidence. Chang asks Miles if it’s true. Miles says no, and Chang tells Faraday to stay away from him. Chang gets in the van, and the driver pulls away. Miles asks Faraday what he’s doing, and Faraday says making sure Chang does what he’s supposed to do.

WHOOSH to Faraday’s graduation ceremony from Oxford. Eloise meets Faraday’s girlfriend, Theresa, but is cold to her. Eloise asks if she and Daniel can have lunch together. Alone. At the restaurant, Faraday chastises her for being rude to his girlfriend. Eloise says Theresa is his research assistant, and he should be focusing on his work. He isn’t going to have time for relationships. The women in his life will only be terribly hurt. His work will always come first. Faraday asks when it’ll be enough? He’s the youngest doctorate ever to graduate from Oxford, and he just got a £1.5 million research grant. That gets Eloise’s attention, and she asks who it’s from. Faraday says an industrialist named Charles Widmore. Eloise congratulates him and hands him a gift. It’s a blank journal, and we realize that it’s the same journal Faraday carries on the island in which he copied notes from his research. But for now it’s empty, except for the inscription Eloise has written on the first page: “Daniel, no matter what, remember, I will always love you. Mother.”

WHOOSH to Sawyer’s house as Sawyer explains the situation to Jack, Kate, Hurley, Jin and Juliet. This has been their home for the last three years, and the last thing they want to do is leave it. But that’s exactly what they’re going to have to do. They have two options: commandeer the sub and get off the island, or head into the jungle and start from square one. Jin says he’s not leaving if there’s a chance Sun is still on the island. Hurley agrees. After everything they did to get back, he’s not running off again. Suddenly, Faraday bursts in and asks if any of them know where the hostiles are. Juliet asks why, and Faraday says because one of them is his mother, and only she can get them back to where they belong.

WHOOSH to Faraday watching the news report about the finding of the wreckage of Oceanic 815. Faraday is upset by it but he doesn’t know why. A man rings the bell and comes in. It’s Charles Widmore! Faraday apologizes and says that he has a condition that affects his memory. He doesn’t know if they know each other. Widmore introduces himself, and it takes Faraday a moment to remember this is the man who funded his research. He meant to thank Widmore before he left Oxford — and Widmore interrupts him to say before Faraday was dismissed. Flustered, Faraday says it was an accident and that it never should’ve happened. He tested it on himself first. He would never hurt Theresa. Widmore says that’s not why he’s there, and asks what if he told Faraday that all the people from the plane crash weren’t dead. What if he said that the plane was a fake. Faraday asks how Widmore would know, and Widmore says because he put it there. He tells Faraday that the real Oceanic 815 crashed on an island — a very special island with unique scientific properties — and he wants to send Faraday to this island. It will further his research, show Faraday things he’d never dream of… and, most importantly, it will heal him. Faraday asks why Widmore is doing everything for him? Widmore says because Faraday is a man of tremendous gifts. It’d be a shame to see them wasted. Faraday says Widmore sounds like his mother. Widmore smiles and says that’s because they’re old friends.

WHOOSH to Sawyer’s house as Faraday explains that they met his mother in 1954. It was Ellie, the young blonde woman. Sawyer asks what Faraday needs to talk to her about, but Faraday won’t say. Sawyer then says he ain’t showing Faraday anything until he shares what he’s doing. Jack points out that they don’t belong there, and Faraday can get them back where they belong. They argue about what to do, and finally Juliet gives Kate the sonic fence code. She says Kate and Jack should take Faraday to the hostiles. It’s all over for them now anyway. Faraday promises he knows what he’s doing.

Kate and Jack lead Faraday to the motor pool to get a van, but Faraday sees a young redheaded girl on the swings. He approaches her and says hello. The girl is eating a chocolate bar, and when she sees Faraday she looks caught. She says he’s not allowed to have chocolate before dinner. And yes, she speaks with a British accent. It’s young Charlotte, and Faraday smiles. He asks if she knows Dr. Chang, and Charlotte nods. Faraday says that soon Dr. Chang is going to ask people to get on the sub and leave the island, and when he does, Charlotte and her mommy have to go. Faraday says it’s important they go, and she has to never, ever come back. Charlotte is scared of him. He says he tried to avoid telling her but she has to leave.

Faraday joins Jack and Kate at the motor pool as Radzinsky pulls up in a van with some guards. They’re armed. Radzinsky sees them and is instantly suspicious. Faraday is supposed to be at the Swan site. Faraday says there was an accident at the Orchid that Dr. Chang asked him to help with. Radzinsky says he just left Chang at his house — Faraday is lying! Radzinsky sees that they’re armed, and it instantly becomes a stand-off. Faraday says they are leaving, but BANG! Radzinsky fires! Faraday fires back and hits Radzinsky in the hand. A firefight breaks out, Faraday is hit, but they are able to jump in a van and speed away.

WHOOSH to Faraday’s house when he gets a new visitor. It’s his mom, Eloise. She hears that he’s been offered a new job, and she wants him to know that it’s very important he takes it. Faraday says he can’t. Widmore needs someone to calculate complicated calibrations and bearings, and he doesn’t know how to do it anymore. Eloise tells him the island could make him better, and if it does, he could continue his work. He asks if he goes would it make her proud of him? Eloise says yes, it will. Faraday says then he’ll go.

WHOOSH to Sawyer’s house as Juliet and Sawyer pack to leave. They hear the alarms go off, and Radzinsky and his guards burst in to tell LaFleur about the gun fight. They hear a banging coming from inside the closet. Radzinsky opens it and finds Phil tied up. Radzinsky immediately takes Sawyer and Juliet prisoner.

Kate, Jack and Faraday drive up to the pylons. Jack cleans Faraday’s wound as Faraday explains that even though it’s 1977, it’s their present. He warns Jack not to be naïve enough to think that nothing can happen to them there. Any one of them could die. Kate turns the fence off, and they continue on. At a creek, they rest as Faraday explains that he spent years studying relativistic physics and learned that no matter what you couldn’t change the past. But then he realized he’d spent so much time in his research focused on the constants that he forgot about the variables. And in these equations, the variables are them. People. They make choices. They have free will.

Kate asks what Faraday is talking about. He says that soon, while drilling at the Swan station site, they are going to accidentally tap into a massive pocket of energy. If that energy is released, it would be catastrophic. In order to contain it, they are going to cement the entire area in, like Chernobyl. And these people will spend years keeping that energy at bay by pushing a button. A button that one day Desmond is not going to push, and that will cause their flight, Oceanic 815, to crash. And because their plane crashed, a freighter is going to be sent to the island. A freighter that he was on.

Faraday thinks he can negate that energy and destroy it. And if he can, then that means the hatch will never be built and their plane would never crash. It’ll land in Los Angeles like it was supposed to. Kate asks how he’s going to do that, and Faraday says he’s going to detonate a hydrogen bomb.

WHOOSH to the hospital E.R. as Hawking finishes her story to Penny. She’s there to apologize to Penny. Desmond has become a casualty in a conflict much bigger than him. Much bigger than any of them. Hawking leaves the E.R. and outside a voice stops her, asking if Desmond is okay. Hawking turns to see Charles Widmore standing there. Yes, she says, Desmond is fine. Then she tells him his daughter, Penny, is in there. He should go in and say hello. Widmore says his relationship with Penny was one of the things he had to sacrifice. Hawking becomes angry and tells him not to talk about sacrifice to her. Widmore says that Faraday was his son, too. Hawking slaps him and gets in a cab.

WHOOSH to the island as Jack, Kate and Faraday reach the area where the Others live. Faraday walks into their camp and fires a few warning shots. He demands to talk to Eloise. Richard Alpert comes out and says Eloise isn’t there right now. Faraday asks where the bomb is. Alpert tells him to lower his gun and they’ll talk, but Faraday tells Alpert he has three seconds — when BLAM! A gun shot rings out. Faraday looks down and sees that he has been shot, and he collapses to the ground. Behind him stands his mother, Eloise Hawking, holding the gun. Faraday was killed by his own mother! Alpert asks why she did that, and Eloise says that Faraday had a gun on him. Faraday looks up at her and says she knew… she always knew this would happen… and she sent him to the island anyway. Eloise asks who he is, and Faraday says her son.

Lost Spoiler: Lost 5×14 The Variable

lost-tv-show-faraday4Looks like we get to see what Daniel Faraday has been up to so far since the time travel back to 1977. Faraday is a physicist originally hired on by Charles Whidmore whom we know was once the leader on the Island of Lost. What is the Island called anyway? He creates a connection with Desmond as he apparently has some memory issues which I am sure will be revealed this season.

Daniel also claims his mother is Eloise Hawking (which I am sure we will find more out about her as well.

Lost Tv Show is one of the best shows ever and it takes stars like Jeremy Davies (former E.T. Movie start) to make have that mystic that just keeps people coming back.

While the other cast members are making their way on the Island, Faraday was back in the regular world doing who knows what! We will find out .

Lost Spoiler: Lost 5×13 Some Like It Hoth

miles-straumeOn Wednesday April 15th, the Lost TV Show will be showing Episode 5×13 – Some Like it Hoth! If you are a Star Wars fan then you Hoth is the planet they started Empire Strikes Back on and it was a cold planet with strange creatures. What does this have to do with next weeks episode? Who knows! But maybe Hurley or Sawyer will make a reference to it. Like on last weeks episode Ben Linus says “dead is dead” just like that show was titled.

This episode seems to have Hurley and Miles Straume taking a body somehwere and we know Miles can talk to thet dead! How cool or creepy! We also get the idea from the preview that Miles talking to this dead body will reveal why the characters needed to come back.

I can’t wait to see how they connect the cast from the future to the cast from the past! I also wonder when we get more details about Richard Alpert and why he never ages and what his connection to the Island it.

Lost Season 5 x 12: Dead is Dead Preview

benAre these titles cool or what? “Dead is Dead”. Maybe the title has to do with John Locke coming back to life, thought the preview below shows it is all about Ben.

The real question here is who wants to see Ben suffer for all his evil deads and secret ways about him? I think he is always suffering and never changing personally, but that is just my opinion.

I am looking forward to seeing what John has to say to Ben or if Ben already knew he would come back to life, since as we know if the Island doesn’t want you dead you won’t die. My theory here is that when Jack, Hurley, Sayid, Kate, Sun & Ben returned to the Island someone had to be dead and in a Casket just like Jacks Dad was when the first plane crashed. Oh, and to go further into this line of thinking, Desmond couldn’t be on the plane since he found his way there from his Boat that was funded by a stranger who just wanted to help him out (hmmm, maybe they will give us more information one day here)…

Anyway, here is a preview of Next weeks Lost “Dead is Dead”

Lost Season 5, Episode 11: Whatever Happened, Happened

This is a Preview of tonight’s Episode! Whatever Happened, Happened.

These are just Theories of course, but we get the feeling from “Daniel Faraday” that you can’t change the past and he makes a few references to this. We can take this 1 of 2 ways…

  1. You can try to change the past, but it won’t change because it has already happened
  2. You should not try and change the past

I think we are more on the lines of “you can’t really change the past”. So Sayid’s shooting of Ben as a child is not really changing anything. Maybe he will be saved and grow up to be bitter about Sayid killing him and doing what he can to ruin his life “like he has already”… Or I can be way off here.

What do you think?
